Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 26, 2026 · Version 1.2

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

SmartHow LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("SmartHow", "we", "us"), provides an autonomous management system for industrial operations. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you:

  • visit smarthow.com or our other websites;
  • request a demo, download a report, subscribe to updates or contact us;
  • meet us at events or correspond with us as a customer, prospect, partner or vendor contact.

Platform data is different. When our business customers use app.smarthow.com, we process the information they and their users submit (such as procedures, incident reports, shift handovers and user accounts) on the customer's behalf and under our contract with them. For that information we act as a service provider (a "processor" in some laws), and the customer's own privacy notice applies. If you are a user of a customer and want to exercise a privacy right, please contact that customer; we will help them respond.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, precise geolocation, or government ID numbers) through our websites. We do not collect information from children.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your requests, schedule demos and provide the materials you ask for;
  • operate, secure and improve our websites, and detect fraud and abuse;
  • send updates and marketing about SmartHow, with your consent where the law requires it (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • manage our relationships with customers, prospects, partners and vendors;
  • comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms and defend legal claims.

We do not use website visitor information to train AI models.

4. How we disclose information

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not run advertising on or from our websites. The one exception to "we do not share": if you accept business visitor identification in our consent banner, information about your visit (such as your IP address, browser and pages viewed) is shared with RB2B and its identity partners so they can recognize business visitors. Some of those partners work in digital advertising, and some state laws may treat this as "sharing". It never happens unless you accept, you can withdraw at any time with "Cookie settings", and we honor Global Privacy Control.

We disclose personal information only to:

  • Service providers who help us run our business, under contracts that limit their use to providing services to us. The current list of subprocessors is in our Trust Center: trust.inc/smarthow.
  • Our affiliate SH Tecnologia e Treinamentos Ltda in Brazil, which helps us provide and support the Services.
  • Authorities and others when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of SmartHow, our customers or others.
  • A successor in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
  • Others with your direction or consent.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies to run the website and remember your privacy choices;
  • Performance and error tools to detect failures and keep the site reliable;
  • Analytics (Google Analytics, with advertising features turned off) to understand how the site is used, only if you accept in our consent banner;
  • Business visitor identification (RB2B), only if you accept in our consent banner. RB2B and its identity partners may match a visit to business contact information, such as name, title, company and professional profile, so our team can follow up with business visitors. We do not use it to show you ads.

Linking a visit to a form. With every form you send us, we store where your visit came from (for example the campaign, search engine or website that referred you, and the page you landed on). If you have accepted analytics, we also store the identifier Google Analytics gave your browser, and we give you an internal identifier that we send to Google Analytics in place of your email address. This lets us see which pages you viewed before and after contacting us. We never send your email address or name to Google Analytics.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. If you reject, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, neither tool is loaded.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information in the states where that is required. Our websites do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common standard for them. You can manage cookies in your browser and in our cookie banner.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any update here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will give notice on our website or by email before it takes effect.
